We are updating View Royal’s Transportation Master Plan (TMP) to guide improvements over the next 10 years.
View Royal’s transportation network faces challenges. Positioned between the rapidly growing West Shore and the Greater Victoria core, the town sits at a pivotal regional crossroads geographically and strategically. Traffic has increased since the last transportation master plan was created, highlighting the need for a refreshed, forward-looking transportation network that is practical and rooted in local context.

The TMP update will be developed over the next year. The project will include three phases of public engagement, during which community members will have opportunities to learn about and contribute to the development of the TMP.
Public Engagement Round 1: Fall 2025
We will share what we know about transportation in View Royal today, including existing conditions, challenges, and opportunities. We’ll present the progress made since the last TMP, along with the feedback received through the recent engagement on the Official Community Plan (View Royal 2050) and the View Royal Active Transportation Network Plan 2023.
Watch for a survey! We want to hear from as many people as possible to confirm the existing conditions and the opportunities for improvement.
Public Engagement Round 2: Fall 2025 - Spring 2026
We will continue to share information and request your input. At this stage, we would appreciate your feedback on the draft vision and goals, as well as the potential strategies to enhance transportation within the community.
Watch for a survey and a Public Ideas Fair! We will also have “pop-ups” located around the community for self-led engagement.
Public Engagement Round 3: Spring 2026 - Summer 2026
We will share the key elements of the Draft TMP Update. Your input will help us prioritize the recommendations before finalizing the plan and presenting it to Council.
